Wakefield | Full-time | ️ September start or ASAP | £150–£250/day (depending on experience)

Into atoms, energy, or ecosystems? There’s space for you here.

A welcoming secondary school in Wakefield is on the lookout for a dynamic Science Teacher to join their team—ideally with a Physics focus, but the department is open and flexible. If you’re confident teaching general science at KS3 or across specialisms at KS4, you’ll still be a strong contender.

This is a school that gets science. You’ll find well-equipped labs, a supportive department, and a leadership team that actually listens.

What’s on offer:

  • A friendly science faculty open to different specialisms
  • Supportive SLT and collaborative planning structures
  • Flexibility to teach Physics or General Science depending on your strengths
  • Opportunities for CPD, progression, and even some KS5 if that’s your thing

What you’ll be doing:

  • Delivering engaging lessons in Physics and/or General Science (KS3–KS4)
  • Supporting students to think critically, question boldly, and experiment safely
  • Working within a team that shares ideas, laughs, and the occasional Bunsen burner mishap
  • Using your subject knowledge to build confidence and ignite curiosity

You’ll need:

  • UK QTS or equivalent secondary science teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching at KS3 and KS4 (Physics, Chemistry or Biology welcome)
  • A flexible, can-do attitude with strong classroom presence
  • The ability to make science meaningful, memorable, and just a bit magical

What you get with Protocol:

  • Weekly PAYE pay – no umbrella deductions
  • A consultant who actually calls back (and gets to know you)
  • FREE access to CPD, including subject-specific sessions
  • Local roles matched to your location and goals
  • Bonus scheme for referring your science mates!

Fancy joining a school where your subject (whichever science it is!) gets the spotlight it deserves? Apply now or give us a shout to find out more.
