ROLE SUMMARY:

Wetherby Senior School was founded in 2015 and has approximately 450 boys, all studying at least one language for 5 years. Our students regularly achieve high grades, gaining places at top UK universities like Cambridge, LSE, Imperial, Durham, and UCL, as well as universities abroad such as the University of Chicago, UPenn, Bocconi, and IE Business School Madrid.

The school offers a progressive education with high standards across all areas. The curriculum includes Philosophy and Thinking Skills to foster critical thinking, creativity, and social responsibility. Our experienced staff prepare students for leading universities worldwide.

We are seeking a Teacher of Chemistry to join from September 2025 or January 2026. The science department comprises nine teachers and two lab technicians. Historically, 65% of students study for individual science IGCSEs, with the rest taking Science (Double Award). Chemistry is popular at A level.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Deliver high-quality Chemistry lessons, aiming for excellent exam results.
• Teach Chemistry at GCSE and A Level, contributing to KS3 general science as needed.
• Use effective assessment and provide feedback to support pupil progress.
• Adapt teaching for pupils with diverse needs, ensuring an inclusive environment.
• Contribute to Science Department development through planning and resource sharing.
• Support enrichment activities like clubs, competitions, and trips.
• Participate in departmental administration and meetings.
• Guide students on subject choices and university applications.
• Engage in pastoral duties, including tutoring if required.
• Contribute to co-curricular activities and school life.
• Attend meetings, training, and uphold safeguarding policies.
