Job summary

Academics in Woking, Surrey, is seeking a talented Chemistry/Physics Teacher to join a thriving secondary school community. You will teach across Key Stages 3/4/5 and contribute to a supportive Science department focused on excellence, innovation and inclusion.

The successful candidate will hold QTS, have a strong Chemistry and/or Physics background, and bring engaging, research-informed teaching to a dedicated team.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with strong Chemistry and/or Physics background.
  • Passionate about engaging students in science and developing critical thinking.
  • Excellent classroom management and reflective, research-informed teaching approach.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Chemistry and/or Physics across KS3/4/5 to inspire curiosity and understanding.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons combining practical work with theory and real-world applications.
  • Use insightful assessment and feedback to monitor progress and raise attainment.
  • Contribute to an ambitious, knowledge-rich Science curriculum within a supportive department.
  • Engage in enrichment activities and collaborative planning with colleagues.

Start Date: September/October/January
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: 34,397 - 52,489 per annum (MPS/UPS, depending on experience)

What You'll Be Doing
  • Teach Chemistry and/or Physics across Key Stages 3/4/5, inspiring students to explore and question the world around them.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that combine practical investigation with scientific theory and application.
  • Use effective assessment and feedback to support progress and achievement for all learners.
  • Contribute to the continued development of an ambitious and knowledge-rich Science curriculum.
  • Play an active role in the wider school community through enrichment, clubs, and collaborative planning.
About You

We're looking for a teacher who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and has a strong subject background in Chemistry and/or Physics.
  • Is passionate about engaging young people in the sciences and fostering critical, independent thinking.
  • Has excellent classroom management and a reflective, research-informed approach to teaching.
  • Works collaboratively with colleagues and contributes positively to a supportive team culture.
