Job Description

This is a brilliant opportunity to join Eurofins Food Testing as a Laboratory Analyst in Wolverhampton's fast-paced chemistry department.

This is a permanent part-time role, working 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday 08:00 till 16:00.

The purpose of this role is to perform sample extraction and analysis for food chemistry, contaminants, and environmental methods, adhering to quality standards using appropriate techniques.

• Prepare, extract, and analyze food samples according to ISO17025 standards.
• Prepare calibration and quality standards to ensure method and instrument performance.
• Report and calculate results following analysis methods.
• Plot and act upon quality control data per batch.
• Maintain a turnaround time of >99%, achieving daily targets.
• Manage stock levels of consumables for ongoing methods.
• Provide excellent internal and external customer care.
• Ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation and maintain a clean, tidy working environment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement within the laboratory team.
• Understand and implement Laboratory Quality Manual policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
• Operate in accordance with UKAS 17025 accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• Science degree, equivalent qualification, or significant laboratory experience.
• Experience in production or laboratory work, including higher education projects.
• Knowledge of UKAS standards.
• Strong laboratory skills and good practices.
• Enthusiasm, energy, and a driven outlook.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Maths and English GCSE C or above, or equivalent.
