Job description

Analytical Services

We offer commercial analytical lab chemistry testing for food and drink, including: nutritional and health, microscopy, biochemistry, allergens, chromatography, packaging, cereals and ingredients, and wines and spirits.

Position

  • Undertake analysis of samples in the Analytical Chemistry section along with all associated activities. This could involve analysis by GC/MS/MS, LC/MS/MS, HPLC, and ICP.
  • Booking in of samples, preparation of samples, and reporting of results to clients.
  • Routine analysis of foodstuffs and related materials using instrumental methods such as HPLC and LC/MS/MS.
  • Produce accurate laboratory records, calculate results, collate data for scientific reports, and produce reports for both routine and bespoke analysis.
  • Ensure all quality aspects are managed according to Campden BRI standards, including maintaining QC records for UKAS accredited methods.
  • Respond to client inquiries related to testing within the section.
  • Train and supervise junior staff as required.
  • Perform basic maintenance and calibration of equipment, including GC/MS/MS, LC/MS/MS, and HPLC systems.

  • This role is based full-time at our Chipping Campden (Gloucestershire) campus in the scenic Cotswolds. Public transport is limited, so a driving license and vehicle are essential. The site is accessible from towns like Stratford-upon-Avon, Cheltenham, and Evesham.
