Product Development Chemist

As the Product Development Chemist, you will be responsible for researching, developing, and evaluating new advanced SCR catalyst formulations to meet our global automotive customers’ requirements. You will oversee or support research projects that generate new products, processes, and insights into their commercial value, while building a fundamental understanding of the science involved.

You will work independently or as part of a team, coordinating and planning projects under general guidance. Your role will involve applying initiative, innovation, and creativity to solve technical and research challenges. You will gain expertise in preparing new catalyst concepts/formulations and organizing their testing and analysis.

Your Responsibilities:
  1. Design and support the manufacture of catalysts that comply with customer and legislative requirements, considering quality standards, EHS, and sustainability.
  2. Produce and interpret complex technical data for circulation and presentation to internal and external customers, aiding in product and process improvements to gain a competitive edge.
  3. Coordinate resources effectively to achieve objectives.
  4. Serve as a key contact for other departments within the Technology Centre.
  5. Maintain strong relations with global development, application, and/or research teams by supporting R&D activities.
Role Requirements:
  • A science degree in a relevant discipline; practical experience is advantageous.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical data.
  • Proficiency with IT tools, especially the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Resourceful team player with a practical approach.
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to combine scientific analysis with organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with internal stakeholders.
  • Commitment to quality and timely delivery, even under tight deadlines.
