Bostik, a leading global adhesive specialist, provides lamination adhesives for flexible packaging used in food, medical, and industrial applications. Their adhesives enhance the performance of multilayered packaging films by providing strong bonding, added functionality, and improved conversation efficiency.

We are seeking a Chemist or Chemical Engineer to work on innovation, product development, and optimization of our lamination adhesives product range in North America.

Organization
- Reports to Sr Research Scientist AP&C Flexible Laminating

Safety
- Takes responsibility for personal safety in lab operations and commits to safe work practices.
- Participates in departmental safety initiatives, such as observations and SOP development.
- Operates in compliance with site safety policies, including material handling and waste disposal.
- Initiates improvements in safety practices.

Know-How
- Master’s degree in chemistry or chemical engineering; or bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years’ experience in polymer chemistry, preferably in adhesives.
- Knowledge of polyurethane, polyester, and acrylic polymers, especially for lamination adhesives in food packaging.
- Understanding of adhesion theory and reaction kinetics, particularly related to polyurethane and polyester chemistry.
- Ability to analyze data and explain conclusions to stakeholders.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Design of Experiment techniques.
- Ownership of equipment and processes; capable of setting up research equipment and executing experiments.
- Learns product properties and technology in the area of responsibility.
- Good understanding of statistical methods and analysis.
