Job description

Upstream Risk Engineer

Salary: Six Figure Salary plus outstanding benefits

Due to recent expansion, a global leading insurance company is recruiting for 2 Risk Engineers.

Key Mission: To execute the risk consulting strategy for the Upstream Energy team, aiming to optimize value-added support to the risk carrier (risk knowledge, risk selection, loss reduction) for the profitability of insured business.

Provide risk consulting services to clients as part of the payer-to-partner strategy, including risk consulting value propositions and developing a stream of earnings from these services.

Your main responsibilities include providing oil and gas, drilling, and exploration-specific risk reviews for underwriting through third-party information review and client meetings, as well as conducting claims reviews.

You may be required to visit client sites to evaluate location and industry-specific risks and report findings in a structured way to underwriting and clients. Travel is therefore a requirement.

You will assist the underwriting team in enhancing their risk knowledge, selecting profitable clients, and reducing losses.

You will work in compliance with technical rules and guidelines, collaborating closely with regional and country managers.

Qualifications: MEng in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical/Process Engineering.

Experience: Previous work in an oil and gas exploration and production company with significant experience in drilling, development (onshore and offshore), production operations, construction, or an equivalent risk consulting role.

Additional Interests: Interest in energy transition and emerging technologies.

Skills: Forward-thinking, agile, with problem-solving abilities in risk management.
