Position Overview: Our client is seeking a highly skilled and creative Executive Chef or Sous Chef to lead the culinary team at a luxurious 5-star beachside resort in Bali. The ideal candidate will bring a fresh and innovative approach to the culinary experience, seamlessly blending Western and Asian cooking techniques and preparations. This is a unique opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise in a stunning tropical setting, delivering a world-class dining experience to discerning guests.

Responsibilities:

  1. Menu Development: Craft a diverse and sophisticated menu that harmoniously combines Western and Asian culinary influences. Create seasonal menus emphasizing fresh, locally-sourced ingredients that reflect the vibrant flavors of Bali.
  2. Innovation and Creativity: Introduce inventive and contemporary culinary concepts to elevate the resort's dining experience. Experiment with fusion techniques that celebrate both Western and Asian cuisines.
  3. Quality Control: Ensure all culinary offerings meet the highest standards of taste, presentation, and nutritional value. Implement and maintain rigorous quality control measures throughout the food preparation process.
  4. Leadership and Team Development: Lead and inspire a team of culinary professionals, fostering a collaborative and creative working environment. Provide training and mentorship to enhance the skills of the kitchen staff.
  5. Adherence to Standards: Uphold and enforce sanitation, hygiene, and safety standards in the kitchen. Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination in delivering exceptional service.
  6. Guest-centric Approach: Maintain high guest contact, being visible and communicative to curate individual experiences. Have a natural flair for personalizing guests’ culinary expectations.

Requirements:

  1. Culinary Expertise: Proven experience as an Executive Chef in a high-end (Michelin Star or similar), international setting. Extensive knowledge of Western and Asian cooking techniques and flavor marriage.
  2. Innovation and Creativity: Ability to develop and execute creative, trendsetting menus. Passion for exploring new culinary trends and incorporating them into the resort's offerings. Strong leadership and management skills. Excellent communication abilities for effective collaboration.
  3. Quality-focused: Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and taste. Attention to detail and aesthetic sensibility. Flexibility to adapt to the dynamic needs of a 5-star beachside resort environment. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure setting.
  4. About You: Experienced as an Executive Head Chef in all aspects of running a successful high-end boutique luxury resort. Fluent in English, well-presented, personable, calm, and respectful of local traditions and customs. Great guest interaction skills and team leadership qualities.
  5. Education and Experience:
  • Culinary degree from a reputable institution.
  • Proven track record as an Executive Chef in luxury resorts or high-end restaurants within Europe.
  • Experience with Asian and Western cuisines.
