Job summary

Holroyd Howe is seeking a Chef de Partie (Term Time only) for Hymers College Hull. The role offers £14.00 per hour for 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, starting September 2026.

This position is based on site within a prestigious educational setting, with a strong emphasis on quality, training, and career development. The successful candidate will join a respected contract catering team, supporting menu planning, food safety, and high standards of service in a busy school kitchen.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a similar role within a contract catering company or educational institution preferred.
  • Culinary degree or relevant certifications from a recognized culinary institute.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Fun and enthusiastic

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Chef manager in all aspects of food preparation, production, and service.
  • Ensure the quality and presentation of all dishes meet the company's standards and client expectations.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to food safety procedures.
  • Assist in menu planning and development, considering dietary restrictions and seasonal ingredients.
  • Oversee stock control and ordering to minimize waste.
  • Collaborate with the catering team to execute events and themed dinners.
  • Maintain a clean, organized kitchen, following health and safety regulations.
  • Support in scheduling, budgeting, and keeping records of food costs.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and new ingredients to enhance menus.

Job Description

As a Chef you will Collaborate with our culinary team to craft flavourful dishes that nourish both body and mind

As well as having an excellent presentation, organisational and communication skills, you will be able to demonstrate a real passion for food & service and possess bags of enthusiasm.
