Job summary

Broadacres Housing Association in Stokesley is seeking a Chef Supervisor to lead a welcoming Extra Care catering team and deliver high-quality dining experiences for residents. You will work closely with the Chef Manager, inspiring the team and ensuring meals meet top standards.

Hours are sociable, 8am–5pm, with a permanent, part-time (26 hours/week) arrangement and a £21,177.95 annual salary. This role offers meaningful daytime work improving residents’ wellbeing and independence.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a professional catering or kitchen environment.
• Previous experience supervising or leading a team.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and kitchen operations.
• NVQ Level 3 in Professional Cookery (or equivalent experience).
• Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or equivalent experience).

Responsibilities

• Supporting and motivating the catering team to deliver outstanding food and service.
• Leading food preparation, cooking and meal service to consistently high standards.
• Ensuring the kitchen operates safely, efficiently and in line with food hygiene regulations.
• Managing stock, supporting audits and helping deliver a cost-effective service.
• Assisting with staff rotas and ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained.
• Coaching and developing team members to help them thrive in their roles.
• Stepping up to lead the service in the Chef Manager's absence.
