ABOUT THE ROLE

Join the heart of our culinary craft at Daylesford Organic Farm, where food is made with integrity, care, and a deep respect for nature. We’re looking for a Production Chef to be part of our Black Barn Production Kitchen Team, preparing and cooking our award-winning range of organic soups, meals, and broths.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a high-volume, artisanal kitchen that produces up to 30,000 hand-cooked units per week, using only the finest organic ingredients, many grown on our farm, with meat supplied by our own abattoir.

You’ll be part of a team that values craftsmanship, sustainability, and wellbeing, working in a beautiful countryside setting with access to fresh, organic produce and a supportive, purpose-driven culture.

SALARY: £14.00 per hour

HOURS: 45 hours per week

5 x 9-hour shifts

Shifts start at 5:00 or 7:00am

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carry out all food preparation in a timely and professional manner and ensuring that all ingredients are prepared, weighed and measured ready for production.
  • Prepare a diverse range of organic dishes following recipes with precision and care, consistently delivering exceptional quality and presentation in every batch.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene
  • Work collaboratively with the production team to meet daily output targets above are met for the required fulfilment rate (98%)
  • Communicate effectively with other departments, including Distribution, Technical and Buying Teams.
  • Support innovation and seasonal menu development when required
  • Assist with stock rotation and ingredient traceability
  • Observing a clean-as-you-go policy and completing the required cleaning rotas
  • Keeping detailed records in order to fulfil the business’s due diligence and traceability requirements
  • Participating in the effective communication amongst the team regarding any changes to recipes, procedures and/or operational needs, and amongst the company and other customers regarding any quality issues/shortages in the required timescale.

SKILLS YOU WILL BRING

  • A love or food, skilled in preparing large volumes while maintaining quality, a precision in measuring, prepping, and presenting hand-cooked products.
  • A strong eye for detail to ensure accuracy and precision with ability to follow standardised recipes with accuracy and consistency.
  • A good understanding of food safety and health & safety requirements with a familiarity with HACCP, SALSA, and Soil Association standards.
  • The ability to work independently following existing processes and recipes/specifications.
  • A positive attitude representing Daylesford’s values with pride and professionalism
