Job summary

Caterlink is seeking a Chef Manager for Katesgrove Primary School in Reading to ensure nutritionally balanced, high-quality meals for pupils and staff. This term-time role operates Monday to Friday with no weekends, offering 27.5–30 hours per week across 38.6 weeks per year and a pay rate of £13.50 per hour.

You will lead food preparation, maintain Health & Safety standards, supervise site teams, manage inventories and budgets, and act as the main client contact at the school.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present food to Caterlink and client standards
• Ensure location meets Health and Safety, Food Safety and environmental legislation
• Maintain Caterlink's reputation for food and service with client and customers
• Oversee day-to-day running of location and supervise teams including inventories, budgets and action plans
• Act as main client contact in school and implement improvements
• Regularly communicate with line manager to monitor KPIs and financial targets
• Lead and train teams, ensuring training is completed and performance is managed
