This is a Full-Time, Reduced Year role: 37 hours per week, 38 weeks per year.

This role is based at Somerville House, Leeds.

We are seeking a Chef Manager to join the Food Service and Catering Department, which plays a vital role in the student experience. Our shared aim is to provide an environment that creates a better future through inspirational actions that will change lives. The catering department is a fast-paced, hard-working environment that is underpinned by optimism and fun.

What You Will Do

  1. Cook and prepare all meals and snacks for the Café, ensuring menus are innovative, nutritious, current, and meet the needs of our customers.
  2. Effectively manage the Café, delivering high-quality service.
  3. Manage the catering team and address staffing issues effectively.
  4. Regularly gather feedback from customers to improve service provision.
  5. Accurately record purchasing invoices and manage stock to meet the budgeted GP.
  6. Motivate and train Food service assistants to ensure high-quality service for customers and students.

About You

  1. English and Mathematics at level 2 or above.
  2. Relevant experience, knowledge, and understanding of cooking in the catering, hospitality, and food manufacturing sector.
  3. Experience in producing a range of products to a high standard within a short time frame.
  4. Ability to follow Food Hygiene systems and monitor due diligence records.
