Job Title: Chef Manager

As a Chef Manager, you will have full financial and operational responsibility for your school's catering facility. You will focus on delivering exceptional service and food with a creative twist to make school mealtimes fun and exciting.

This role offers:

  • Monday to Friday working - no weekends!
  • 40 hours per week with no late nights
  • 41 weeks per year, aligned with term time (more time for family and friends)
  • Salary of £30,000 per annum

Main Responsibilities
  • Managing the team to ensure a consistently excellent dining experience for students and staff, adhering to company standards
  • Leading in the preparation of delicious, nutritious meals of the highest quality, overseeing menu development
  • Providing outstanding support and guidance to team members
  • Leading, developing, coaching, and training staff positively and motivating them
  • Having full control of the catering operation, including managing stock, food, and labour costs
  • Managing and improving controllable costs
  • Driving sales through monthly promotions and added-value events
  • Building positive relationships with clients and customers
  • Ensuring compliance with company systems, procedures, and legislation
  • Conducting regular audits to maintain standards
Ideal Candidate

  • A natural positive leader with strong teamwork skills
  • Experience managing a team
  • Craft-based experience using fresh ingredients
  • OND or HND qualification (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety practices in a kitchen
  • Financial understanding of gross profit management and achieving sales targets
