Salary: up to £14.93 per hour

Hours: 35 hours per week

Main Purpose
  • To plan and provide nutritious cooked meals daily for service users, ensuring food is fresh and within budget.
  • To maintain high standards of health, safety, environment, and hygiene.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Plan and prepare a variety of menus, ensuring balanced and nutritious meals, considering dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Follow dietary and food preparation guidelines as per care plans and healthcare professional instructions.
  • Ensure proper storage, preparation, and cooking of food following hygiene standards.
  • Manage catering and cleaning budgets and oversee purchasing in collaboration with the Service Manager.
  • Maintain stock quality and control, reflecting menu choices and preferences.
  • Adhere to Food Hygiene regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Store and handle cleaning supplies in accordance with COSHH regulations.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring awareness of Food Hygiene, Safety, and Health regulations.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with service users to create a homely environment.
  • Work on a rota, which may include weekends and bank holidays.
About You
  • Hold a Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Experience in catering within a commercial or care setting.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and COSHH regulations.
  • Experience managing catering budgets.
  • Responsive to dietary and cultural needs.
  • Ability to supervise kitchen staff.
