Job description

Seeking a Chef de Partie to advance into a Chef Training & Assessing role!

Working 39 hours across 5 days out of 7
Salary up to £35,000, full-time, permanent
Open Sunday to Friday (Thursday until 9:30 pm)

We are looking for a passionate Sous Chef who enjoys sharing their culinary skills and knowledge, and loves to showcase technical expertise.

The role is based in our award-winning training restaurant at HMP Brixton, where you will collaborate with the Head Chef and management team to train prison learners in fine dining cuisine, manage service, and support their NVQ qualifications in Professional Cookery, Food Hygiene, and Food Service.

Our goal is to reduce reoffending by equipping learners with practical cookery skills for their rehabilitation. You will assist the Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations and train learners with 2 to 24 months remaining on their sentences. Our learners can earn City & Guilds NVQ qualifications and gain valuable experience in a fine dining restaurant environment. We also support their reintegration into the community and employment in the UK hospitality industry upon release.

Since inception, we have received numerous awards, including the Princess Royal Training Award for outstanding training, the Observer Food Monthly’s ‘Best Ethical Restaurant’, and top rankings on TripAdvisor in London.
