Job Description:

As a CDP, you will be part of a team of up to 12 staff, assisting the Sous Chef in preparing meals for approximately 250 students and staff, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.

You will assist with menu management, food production planning, purchasing, and stock control.

You will contribute to menu development, cleanliness, and kitchen housekeeping.

Shift Pattern Overview:

  • 5 days over 6, shifts between 7:00 AM–3:00 PM and 11:30 AM–7:30 PM
  • Closed Sundays
  • Every third weekend off

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with menu planning, food production, and purchasing within budget
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards
  • Manage stock to minimize waste
  • Ensure health and safety compliance
  • Train and develop the kitchen team
  • Adhere to uniform and PPE policies

Outside of Term Time:

The school is contracted for private lettings and international student programs during Easter and summer.

Person Specification:

  • Excellent culinary skills and experience
  • Passion for food and quality
  • NVQ Level 2 in cookery or equivalent (desirable)
