Job summary

ESS – Defence, Energy and Government Services is seeking a Chef de Partie to join the catering team at RAF Honington. The role is a hands-on kitchen leadership position, working 37 hours per week at a rate of £16.66 per hour, with opportunities to progress in a professional kitchen environment.

You will oversee kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef and play a key role in maintaining food safety, staff guidance, and quality standards within a supportive Compass Group UK&I framework.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role preferred, but not essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all kitchen operations in Head Chef's absence.
• Ensure high-quality food meeting company standards.
• Maintain strict food safety and hygiene compliance.
• Lead and manage kitchen staff, keeping the area clean and presentable.
• Provide hands-on leadership and support to the team.
• Support recruitment activities including interviews and trial shifts.
• Communicate stock levels and needs with Head Chef.
