ob title: Chef de Partie & Housekeeper (Couple)

Salary: GBP13.50 p/hr (Chef) & GBP12.21 p/hr (Housekeeper)

Location: Near Keswick, Cumbria

Accommodation provided: Yes

Charge for accommodation: 100 GBP each per month

Type of contract: Permanent

Workplace description: Set in 2 acres of tranquil wooded gardens, this privately owned family-run hotel with panoramic views of Borrowdale Valley serves traditional British cuisine and local Lakeland produce, including lamb, game, and fish. Guests can enjoy an extensive wine list and afternoon tea in the cosy lounge by the open fire.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Chef

• Ensure all stocks are kept under optimum conditions.
• Prepare all mise-en-place freshly and on time.
• Prepare dishes according to recipes, correct quantities, and presentation standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of his section.
• Train and guide junior cooks and trainees.
• Communicate shortages promptly to the sous or head chef.
• Maintain discipline and courtesy among staff.
• Deputise for the sous chef when needed.
• Attend training and seminars as required.
• Study management subjects for future advancement.

Housekeeper

• Maintain and clean all public areas, bar, restaurant, and rooms to high standards.
• Report issues to relevant departments.
• Assist in achieving guest satisfaction across all areas.

Essential criteria: Willingness to learn; NVQs or equivalent advantageous.
