Job summary

Sodexo Ltd. at HMP Bronzefield is seeking a Chef de Partie to join a busy prison kitchen, preparing nutritious meals for up to 550 residents and meeting dietary needs.

The role includes supervising women in the kitchen and upholding food safety and quality standards in a secure environment. You will work 37.5 hours a week across 5 days, with shifts from early morning to afternoon, and will benefit from on-site facilities and a salary package including London Weighting.

Qualifications

• A relevant catering qualification such as City & Guilds 7061/7062 or NVQ Level 2.
• Valid Food Hygiene and Health & Safety certifications.
• Experience in bulk or high-volume catering.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, allergens and dietary requirements.
• Clear communication and ability to supervise, encourage and motivate others.
• Flexible, proactive approach with initiative and improvement mindset.
• Commitment to fairness and following Sodexo policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals in line with approved recipes and dietary requirements.
• Supervise women in the kitchen, promoting safe practices and high standards.
• Maintain food hygiene, allergen controls, health and safety, and kitchen cleanliness.
• Support the secure receipt, storage and issue of food supplies with accurate records.
• Complete catering paperwork and follow prison security procedures.
• Work with catering managers and Prison Custody Officers to maintain a safe environment.
