Job Description:

We are looking for a Chef de Partie to join the team at our rooftop restaurant in the Ashmolean Museum - immediate start!

The restaurant is open 7 days per week, and the successful candidate will be required to work 5 days per week, including weekends. Mostly daytime hours, only occasional evenings, working hours 7.30am-4.30pm/5pm.

Salary: £13.50 per hour + tronc, approximately £16+ per hour or £33k+ per year

Contract: Full Time / Permanent

Qualifications:

To qualify for the Chef de Partie role, you will need:

• Level 1 and 2 Food Safety Awards
• Minimum 1 year relevant experience
• Awareness of manual handling techniques
• Knowledge of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) and chemical safety
• Experience with kitchen equipment
• Experience handling dangerous equipment such as knives
• Good command of spoken and written English

Desirable but not necessary qualifications include:

• Level 2 Health and Safety in the Workplace Award
• Level 3 Food Safety Awards

Skills and qualities:

Alongside essential skills, the ideal candidate will possess:

• Ability to manage a section independently
• Capability to work without close supervision
• Experience managing Commis Chefs
• Ability to produce high-quality food across all sections
