ESS – Defence, Energy and Government Services is recruiting a Chef de Partie on a full-time basis (37.25 hours/week) to support Defence catering needs in the UK. The role focuses on delivering high-quality meals, implementing menu changes, and maintaining rigorous hygiene standards across service areas.

You will oversee kitchen operations, supervise a small team, and collaborate on new menu concepts while upholding the Defence brand and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Must have City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 (or NVQ equivalent).
• Must hold a Food Hygiene certificate.
• Experience supervising a team in a kitchen.
• Experience in a similar Chef role.
• Strong passion for high-quality food and service.
• Flexible approach to working hours.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality food for clients and customers.
• Oversee and implement menu changes.
• Identify opportunities to improve food services.
• Act on customer feedback to improve service.
• Assist with creation of new menus and concepts.
• Represent Defence and maintain brand image.
• Monitor inventories to keep kitchens stocked.
• Oversee kitchen cleaning and hygiene compliance.
• Comply with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health & Safety regulations.

We're currently recruiting an ambitious Chef de Partie to help us create exceptional food experiences for Defence on a full time basis contracted to 37.25 hours per week.

As a Chef De Partie, you will be responsible for preparing and serving the kind of food that truly brightens our clients' and customers' days, all within the market-leading food service company in the UK.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

• Preparing delicious, high-quality food that delights our clients and customers
• Overseeing and implementing menu changes
• Identifying opportunities to improve our food services
• Listening and acting on customer feedback to consistently improve our food services
• Supporting with the creation of new menus and creative food concepts
• Representing Defence and maintaining a positive brand image
• Monitoring inventories to keep our kitchens well-stocked
• Overseeing kitchen cleaning responsibilities to maintain hygiene standards
• Complying with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health and Safety regulations

Our Ideal Chef De Partie Will

• Be passionate about great-tasting food and exceptional customer service
