The position is based in York, with a working pattern of Monday to Friday from 7am to 2pm, offering a permanent contract with competitive pay. Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a Chef de Partie or similar chef role is required.
  • Sound knowledge of food safety procedures, including COSHH and Manual Handling.
  • Clean, well-presented, and professional in appearance and behaviour.
  • A team player with a positive, pleasant, and engaging attitude.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to learn and develop through on-the-job training and formal courses.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes to company and statutory standards, following set recipes and production plans.
  • Take ownership of a specific section of the kitchen, maintaining cleanliness, organisation, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure all food production complies with Food Safety, Health & Safety, and Hygiene regulations.
  • Support day-to-day food service across restaurant, hospitality, and special function operations on-site.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, including storage areas, fridges, and freezers.
  • Monitor stock levels and ensure proper stock control and rotation to minimise waste and maximise freshness.
  • Serve customers courteously and efficiently, providing a friendly and helpful service.
  • Undertake training and attend meetings as required for personal and professional development.
