Job description

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef de Partie to join our culinary team in Oxford, United Kingdom. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for overseeing a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.

  1. Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes and standards set by the head chef and sous chef
  2. Manage your assigned station, overseeing the production of all dishes within your area
  3. Maintain cleanliness and organization of your designated area, ensuring all equipment is in good working order
  4. Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service and timely food preparation
  5. Uphold strict food safety and sanitation standards at all times
  6. Contribute to menu development by providing innovative ideas and suggestions
  7. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in your section
  8. Assist in inventory management and stock rotation for your station
  9. Participate in quality control measures, ensuring consistent taste and presentation of dishes
  10. Adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Partie, Commis Chef, or in a similar culinary role
  • Culinary diploma or relevant certification in the culinary arts
  • Extensive knowledge of various cooking techniques and international cuisines
  • Strong understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation practices
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using professional kitchen equipment and tools
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Keen attention to detail in food preparation and presentation
  • Knowledge of menu planning and food cost control
  • Creative mindset with a passion for culinary innovation
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when necessary
