We have an exciting opportunity to join our amazing Head Room cafe team. We are looking for a Chef de Partie to assist our Sous Chef in managing kitchen operations, and delivering food services daily as well as for catered events at Head Room.. The Chef de Partie will be accountable for maintaining food standards, meeting Health & Safety Regulations, and delivering an excellent customer dining experience.

Head Room café is a social enterprise by the mental health charity Jami, part of Jewish Care, which serves fresh, vibrant middle Eastern-inspired kosher food and drink. It is a community hub, bringing awareness, education and access to mental health support to the high street.

What you will be doing:

  • Supporting the Sous Chef to manage and deliver all catering services at Head Room
  • Ensuring all food hygiene and Health & Safety practices are monitored and standards are met and recorded in line with organisational policies and current legislation
  • Producing food to the agreed standard and overseeing food production during the sous chef’s absence
  • Working with the sous chef to plan menus and develop food presentation standards
  • Meeting special needs and dietary requirements
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment
  • Assisting in stock control, ordering, and inventory management
  • Contributing to reducing food waste and improving cost efficiency
What you will need:
  • Proven experience as a Chef
  • Experience of high standard food preparation.
  • Knowledge of dietary requirements and allergen awareness.
  • Awareness of waste disposal techniques and infection control.
  • Awareness of COSHH regulations.
Work Pattern:

30 contracted hours per week, scheduled between 7:30 AM and 4:30 PM, Sunday to Friday. Occasional evening shifts may be required for private events.
