Job description

Rambutan in Borough Market is looking for a new CDP/Senior CDP to join the kitchen team. Inspired by the fire cooking in Sri Lankan villages, Rambutan is a female led restaurant centered around an open kitchen, cooking on charcoal grills, reflecting the food from Sri Lanka and from Sri Lanka’s immigrant communities in London.

We have had an amazing two years and are looking for a committed, passionate chef to fall in love with Sri Lankan food, cooking fiery curries, fresh sambols, stir fried dishes, grilled dishes, and hot buttery rotis. Our philosophy is about taking great care of our team, working with amazing producers, and cooking diaspora Sri Lankan food simply and seasonally.

You will:
  • Be a passionate chef, looking to develop their skills and grow
  • Work well in a team, and enjoy working through busy services
  • Enjoy working in an open kitchen, creating a “one-team” feeling with front-of-house and interacting with guests.
  • Not necessarily have cooked Sri Lankan food before but you will be passionate about learning about it!
  • We’d prefer if you have experience, but we are open to people who are keen to develop and grow.
