Chef De Partie

Rate of Pay: £14.50 per hour

Working Hours: 40 hours per week

Shift Pattern: 5 out of 7 days

Contract Type: Permanent-Full Time

Location: Hurstpierpoint College, Hurst Street, Hassocks, West Sussex, BN6 9JS

The Role:

As Chef De Partie for Sodexo at Hurstpierpoint College, you will be an integral part of our kitchen team, reporting directly to the Head Chef. You will take charge of your section, ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and presentation. Your culinary expertise will contribute to creating seasonal, balanced menus that cater to diverse dietary requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to menus, maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene.
  • Supervise and train junior chefs and kitchen staff, fostering a positive working environment.
  • Assist with inventory management and stock ordering, ensuring efficient use of supplies and compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring all dishes meet high culinary standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in a professional kitchen as a Chef De Partie.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures; experience with diverse cuisines is a plus.
  • Ability to develop and present innovative dishes catering to various tastes and dietary needs.
  • Experience supervising and training junior staff, with excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to food hygiene and safety standards.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing menus and dietary requirements in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for cooking and delivering high-quality dining experiences for students, staff, or visitors.
