We have a fantastic new vacancy for a Chef de Partie at Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh West

Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh West is a 160 bedroom hotel which is situated on the leafy Heriot-Watt University campus, with a state-of-the-art lobby and 'The Avenue' at the centre of it all. Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh West is managed by Lighthouse Hotel Management, which is the operational arm of the Molo Hotel Group

Job Description:

As the Chef de Partie, you will play a pivotal role along a fantastic team of dedicated chefs and supportingthe seamless execution of all service periods, ensuring our guests are expertly fueled and satisfied throughout the day. You will work rotational shifts, with some shifts covering the breakfast service from 5 am to 2 pm, and others spanning mid and late shifts that can run until closing time. This flexible schedule will require you to adapt to varying service times, ensuring the smooth and efficient preparation of dishes throughout the day and evening. The shifts will be rotated between two Chef de Parties and a Sous Chef, ensuring fair distribution of responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Dining Experience: As a key member of the kitchen function, you will be part of a team of passionate individuals who put their heart and soul into every dish that they create. Your can-do attitude and pride in making each guests experience a positive one, creates an atmosphere where our guests can’t help but return for more.
• Passion for Excellence: In line with legislation and the hotels policies and procedures, you will understand, implement, and deliver the highest standards of legal compliance regarding to food safety, food hygiene and food allergens. Limiting possible cross contamination and risk to our staff and guests catering to all cuisine needs and wants.
• Kitchen Representation: Taking satisfaction in creating a clean, hygienic, and compliant working environment you will actively pursue tasks within the kitchen that meet the hotel standards and expectation. You will follow all guidance and seek confirmation where required regarding food handling, preparation and workstation expectations.

Requirements

• Prior experience in a similar role may be beneficial but not essential as full on the job training will be provided.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Additional language proficiency is a bonus.
• A passion for delivering exceptional guest experience with an adaptable approach to any alteration requests in line with allergen requirements.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• A drive to work as part of a team to exceed expectations and promote the hotels brand and services.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts (straight shifts 7.5 hours per day), including weekends and holidays, as our hotel operates 24/7.
