Job description

Contract Type: Full Time - 34 weeks Contract
The Role:

As Chef De Partie for Sodexo at Wellington College, Dukes Ride, Crowthorne, Berkshire, RG45 7PU, you will be an integral part of our kitchen team, reporting directly to the Head Chef. You will take charge of your section, ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and presentation. Your culinary expertise will contribute to creating seasonal, balanced menus that cater to a diverse range of dietary requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in all aspects of the preparation of daily food production and presentation of food to the notified standard.
  2. Prepare all food with due care and attention, particularly regarding customers’ special dietary requirements, such as dairy or wheat allergies.
  3. Assist with the replenishment of food to ensure continuous service.
  4. Comply with statutory and company requirements.
  5. Assist with hygienic cleaning of the kitchen to meet all Health and Safety regulations.
  6. Implement cleaning schedules to maintain standards.
  7. Promote a friendly working relationship with colleagues.
  8. Provide excellent customer service to promote a positive company image.
  9. Assist with setting up, presentation, and execution of catering functions.
  10. Perform occasional duties outside routine tasks within the scope of the position.
  11. Support the Executive Head Chef and Senior Sous Chefs with paperwork, including stock ordering, and contribute ideas for future menus.
  12. Assist at special functions, some outside normal hours, with overtime paid accordingly.
  13. Report and address customer feedback and incidents appropriately.
  14. Attend meetings and training courses as required.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience in a similar role within the service industry at a comparable level.
  • Attention to detail and adherence to standards.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills and innovative thinking.
  • Basic Food Hygiene and Health and Safety Certifications.
  • Experience managing client relationships.
  • Proven leadership and team development skills.
  • Working knowledge of Pastry.
