Role Purpose

We are looking for a talented Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team at Gusbourne’s Appledore site on a permanent basis, working 5 days per week.

This role is ideal for an experienced Chef de Partie or for a Commis Chef with 1–2 years’ experience who is ready to take the next step in their career. With access to fresh, seasonal ingredients and the chance to create dishes that complement our award-winning wines, you will play an important part in delivering exceptional food experiences at Gusbourne.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Head Chef in food preparation, menu delivery, and day-to-day kitchen operations.
  • Prepare and present seasonal dishes that complement our wines.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Assist with stock control and supplier management.
  • Contribute to smooth service during wine tastings, events, and private dining experiences.
About You
  • Experience: Previous experience as a Chef de Partie, or as a Commis Chef (1–2 years’ experience) looking to progress.
  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery (or equivalent) – preferable.
  • Passion: A love for fresh, seasonal ingredients and an appreciation for fine wine and food pairings.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, enthusiasm to learn, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team Player: A collaborative approach, working closely with the wider team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Job Type and Hours
  • Full Time, Permanent.
  • Usual working pattern 08.00-16.00.
