At Pilgrims Hospices, we prioritise our team’s wellbeing by offering no split shifts and no late nights, allowing you to enjoy a fulfilling life outside of work.

In this role as Chef/Cook, you’ll be part of a small catering team working in our professional kitchen to create meals for our patients, their families, and staff every day of the year, including using produce from our newly created kitchen garden.

Role

No two days are the same; you will bring your skills as a cook/chef, and leave each day knowing you’ve made a difference.

You’ll work in our clean, professional, 5-star rated kitchen and know that you are appreciated.

This is a role where you will:

  1. Use your catering skills to produce nutritionally balanced meals for patients, their families, and staff, according to a daily menu
  2. Use your creative flair to cater for our various corporate and fundraising events
  3. Work in a care-based environment, interacting with our patients and their families, ensuring they and our staff are fed and happy
  4. Work with colleagues regarding special diets that may be needed by some patients
  5. Provide supervision to Catering Assistants
  6. Ensure that all food prep is done to a high standard
  7. Be provided with training opportunities related to your role

Salary (PT): £14,599 per annum (+ 50% at weekends and Bank Holidays)

Free on-site parking, subsidised food, and uniform provided.
