Job description

This is a Bank Chef position at Barchester Healthcare, a leading healthcare provider in the UK with over 224 homes and hospitals. The role involves delivering hotel/restaurant standards without the typical long hours and split shifts, working with fresh seasonal produce to create nutritious and flavoursome menus for the residents. Main duties of the job

As a Bank Chef at Barchester, you will have the chance to work in a role that allows for a better work-life balance, assisting the Head Chef in creating nutritious and well-balanced menus while working closely with residents to tailor the offerings to their preferences. You will be expected to help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, working within budget, completing audits, and managing stock control. As this is a Bank position to provide cover as and when we need it, such as for annual leave or sick leave, the hours and days you work will vary.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • You will need to hold a City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent qualification, have experience in helping lead and inspire a team, a good understanding of nutrition and experience of working with fresh seasonal food, as well as a good understanding of HACCP.
