Job summary

Barchester Healthcare in Torquay invites qualified chefs to join their bank chef roster, delivering hotel/restaurant standards with flexible hours and work-life balance. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious menus tailored to residents and lead with warmth and passion.

Working with fresh seasonal produce, you’ll manage stock, contribute to audits, and help maintain high standards of food safety and resident wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality kitchen operations.
• Good understanding of nutrition and meal planning.
• Ability to lead and motivate kitchen staff.
• Experience working with fresh seasonal produce.
• Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence.
• Work with fresh produce to deliver high-quality dishes.
• Create a warm, efficient and fun kitchen environment.
• Work within budget and control costs.
• Complete regular audits and stock checks.
• Assist in leading and motivating a team.

Are you a qualified chef looking to work with fresh seasonal food, with the opportunity to have more of a work life balance and make what you do matter?

Working as a Bank Chef at Barchester, you will have the chance to deliver hotel/restaurant standards without the split shifts and long weeks. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well balanced menus whilst working with residents to tailor menus around them. NEED TO HAVE

• A personable and warm approach with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of residents
• Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent
• Experience in helping lead and inspire a team
