Job summary

A casual, part-time Bank Chef position at Barchester offers flexible working and the chance to deliver hotel/restaurant standards without the long split shifts. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome menus tailored to residents in our care homes.

Qualifications

• Must hold City & Guilds or NVQ/SVQ or equivalent.
• Experience leading and inspiring a kitchen team.
• Strong understanding of nutrition.
• Experience cooking with fresh seasonal produce.
• Able to create a warm, welcoming kitchen environment and maintain HACCP.

Responsibilities

• Support Head Chef in managing the kitchen in their absence.
• Prepare high-quality dishes using fresh seasonal produce.
• Create a warm, efficient, and enjoyable kitchen environment.
• Operate within budget and conduct regular audits.
• Assist in stock control and team motivation.
• Ensure high standards of food hygiene and safety.

Job description

Are you a qualified chef looking to work with fresh seasonal food, with the opportunity to have more of a work life balance and make what you do matter?

This is a casual, part-time role offering flexible working. Working as a Bank Chef at Barchester, you will have the chance to deliver hotel/restaurant standards without the split shifts and long weeks. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well balanced menus whilst working with residents to tailor menus around them. NEED TO HAVE

• A personable and warm approach with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of residents
• Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent
• Experience in helping lead and inspire a team
• A good understanding of nutrition
• Experience of working with fresh seasonal food
• The ability to create a warm and welcoming environment within our home
• Good understanding of HACCP
