Job description

This is a temporary Chef role at Barchester Healthcare, a leading healthcare provider in the UK with over 224 homes and hospitals. The role involves working in the kitchen to deliver high-quality, seasonal, and nutritious meals for residents, while maintaining a warm and welcoming environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a balanced schedule with alternate weekends, as well as access to various rewards and development opportunities.

Main duties of the job

As a Bank Chef at Barchester, you will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome, and well-balanced menus while working closely with residents to tailor the menus to their preferences. You will be responsible for managing the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, working with fresh produce to deliver high-quality dishes, and helping to create a warm, efficient, and fun environment. The role also involves managing stock control, completing regular audits, and assisting in leading and motivating the team.

Qualifications
  • The successful candidate must hold a City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent qualification, and have experience in helping lead and inspire a team, as well as a good understanding of nutrition and experience of working with fresh seasonal food.
