Job description

This is a temporary Chef role at Barchester Healthcare, a leading healthcare provider in the UK with over 224 homes and hospitals across the country. The role involves working with fresh seasonal food, creating nutritious and well-balanced menus, and delivering hotel/restaurant standards without the split shifts and long weeks. Main duties of the job

As a Bank Chef at Barchester, you will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well-balanced menus while working with residents to tailor menus around them. You will help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, work with fresh produce to deliver high-quality and wholesome dishes, and help create a warm, efficient and fun environment. You will also be responsible for working within budget, completing regular audits, managing stock control, and assisting in leading and motivating a team.

NEED TO HAVE

  • A personable and warm approach with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of residents
  • Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent
  • Experience in helping lead and inspire a team
  • A good understanding of nutrition
  • Experience of working with fresh seasonal food
  • The ability to create a warm and welcoming environment within our home
  • Good understanding of HACCP

Qualifications
  • You should hold a City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent qualification, have experience in helping lead and inspire a team, a good understanding of nutrition and working with fresh seasonal food, and a good understanding of HACCP.
