Barchester Healthcare Homes Limited is seeking a passionate Bank Chef in Lowestoft for a part-time, flexible role. You will assist the Head Chef, craft nutritious, flavoursome menus using fresh seasonal ingredients, and engage with residents to tailor dishes.

Qualifications

• Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent.
• Experience leading and inspiring a kitchen team.
• Good understanding of nutrition and dietary needs.
• Experience working with fresh seasonal ingredients.
• Familiar with HACCP principles and safe food handling.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Chef in managing kitchen operations in their absence.
• Prepare and cook high-quality dishes using fresh seasonal produce.
• Create a warm, welcoming, and efficient kitchen environment.
• Work within budget and control costs.
• Complete regular kitchen audits and manage stock control.

Job description

Are you a qualified chef looking to work with fresh seasonal food, with the opportunity to have more of a work life balance and make what you do matter?

This is a casual, part-time role offering flexible working. Working as a Bank Chef at Barchester, you will have the chance to deliver hotel/restaurant standards without the split shifts and long weeks. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well balanced menus whilst working with residents to tailor menus around them. NEED TO HAVE

• A personable and warm approach with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of residents
