Job summary

Hamberley Care Homes is seeking a Sous Chef (Bank/Casual) to join Richmond Manor's kitchen team, preparing meals tailored to residents' dietary needs and preferences. You will support the head chef, ensuring high-quality, nutritious dishes and a safe, clean kitchen environment.

Richmond Manor offers a luxury care setting with development opportunities, a supportive team, and a strong focus on resident wellbeing. Suitable NVQ2 in food prep and solid food hygiene knowledge are required.

Responsibilities

• Support head chef in planning and provision of high-quality meals meeting dietary needs of residents.

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
• Collaborate with care team to ensure enjoyable meal times.
• Deputise for head chef during absences and maintain high-quality food offer.

About You

• Proven experience as a chef, ideally in a care or similar environment
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Committed to customer care and first-class service provision
• A recognised and appropriate qualification in food preparation/cooking, at least to NVQ level 2
• Basic certificate in Food hygiene
• Knowledge of Health and Safety COSHH regulations
• Empathy and a desire to make a difference to the lives of residents
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and on own initiative in a fast-paced environment
