This is a temporary chef role at Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK's leading healthcare providers. The role involves creating nutritious, flavoursome, and well-balanced menus for residents, while working in a hotel/restaurant-style environment with a focus on quality and person-centered hospitality.

Main duties of the job

As a Bank Chef at Barchester, you will have the opportunity to work with fresh, seasonal ingredients and deliver high-quality dishes without the long hours and split shifts typically associated with chef roles. You will assist the Head Chef in creating menus that cater to the needs and preferences of the residents, fostering a warm and welcoming environment within the home. The role requires a personable and warm approach, a good understanding of nutrition, and experience in working with fresh, seasonal produce.

Job responsibilities

Working as a Bank Chef at Barchester, you will have the chance to deliver hotel/restaurant standards without the split shifts and long weeks. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well-balanced menus whilst working with residents to tailor menus around them. NEED TO HAVE

• A personable and warm approach with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of residents
• Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent
• Experience in helping lead and inspire a team
• A good understanding of nutrition
• Experience of working with fresh seasonal food
• The ability to create a warm and welcoming environment within our home
• Good understanding of HACCP

• Help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence
• Work fresh produce to deliver high quality and wholesome dishes cooked at the highest quality and standards
