Barchester Healthcare is seeking a passionate Bank Chef to work flexibly across our homes, delivering fresh, seasonal menus with a high standard of quality.

You will support the Head Chef, prepare nutritious dishes for residents and help manage stock and budgets, all while enjoying a better work-life balance and a warm team environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent.
• Experience leading a kitchen team and training staff.
• Knowledge of nutrition and using fresh seasonal ingredients.
• Understand HACCP principles.
• Able to work in a patient-focused environment.

Responsabilités

• Assist Head Chef in kitchen coverage.
• Prepare dishes using fresh produce to high standards.
• Maintain warm, efficient kitchen environment.
• Work within budget and manage stock.
• Conduct regular audits and hygiene checks.
• Lead and motivate team in absence of Head Chef.

Are you a qualified chef looking to work with fresh seasonal food, with the opportunity to have more of a work life balance and make what you do matter?

This is a casual, part-time role offering flexible working. Working as a Bank Chef at Barchester, you will have the chance to deliver hotel/restaurant standards without the split shifts and long weeks. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well balanced menus whilst working with residents to tailor menus around them. NEED TO HAVE

• A personable and warm approach with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of residents
• Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent
• Experience in helping lead and inspire a team
• A good understanding of nutrition
• Experience of working with fresh seasonal food
• The ability to create a warm and welcoming environment within our home
• Good understanding of HACCP
