Sodexo is hiring a Chef at Junior Ranks Mess (MOD) near Winchester. This role involves preparing high-quality meals in a Ministry of Defence environment alongside military personnel, delivering professional catering in a fast-paced setting.

You will follow strict food safety standards, work with a team, and support events and bulk cooking to maintain consistent quality across service.

Qualifications

• Professional chef background in catering or hospitality.
• Culinary qualifications such as City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ Level 2/3.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and health regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation, cooking, and service of meals in a busy kitchen.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene per EHO guidelines.
• Collaborate with front-of-house to deliver outstanding service.
• Cook and serve meals to military personnel with consistent quality.
• Oversee kitchen sanitation and follow best practices.
• Participate in high-profile events and bulk cooking to ensure consistency.

Job description

• 37.5 hours per week
• Shift pattern: Friday (12:15pm-7:30pm), Saturday (6:30am-7:30pm), Sunday (6:30am-7:30pm), and Monday (12:15pm-7:30pm)
• £15.52 per hour
