McMullen & Sons Ltd in Waltham Cross is hiring a dedicated Chef to join our long‑standing family run pub/restaurant. The role offers a competitive hourly rate of £13, full‑time hours and opportunities to grow through our in-house training and development programs.

You'll prepare and serve our menu to a high standard, maintain food hygiene, receive deliveries and keep the kitchen clean and efficient. Previous kitchen experience is essential; we support progression through our growth programme.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy kitchen and ability to work under pressure.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety standards.
• Willingness to learn and develop through the GROW Programme.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and serving our menu to a high standard as per company specification.
• Maintaining food hygiene and health & safety standards within the business.
• Receiving deliveries and maintaining correct storage of food.
• Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
• Assist with training and development in-house as needed.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

• Preparing and serving our menu to a high standard as per company specification to ensure our guests return again and again
• Maintaining food hygiene and health & safety standards within the business and completion of company paperwork with regards to such standards
• Receiving deliveries and maintaining the correct storage of food
• Maintaining and clean and safe kitchen environment
• The right person will have a positive, hands on approach, good communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Previous experience of working within a busy kitchen is essential however further training and development will be given in house and in our Development Kitchen in Hertford.
