Job summary

Ash Grange Nursing Home is recruiting a Chef to deliver nutritious meals for residents in a close-knit community setting in the Walsall area. You will own food preparation, tailor dishes to dietary needs and uphold high standards of presentation and hygiene.

With no late evenings or split shifts, the role offers a balanced pattern and opportunities for ongoing training and development. Previous kitchen experience and relevant certificates are preferred.

About Ash Grange Nursing Home

Our 41 bedded home provides residential and nursing care for older people. Based in Bloxwich, close to Walsall, Ash Grange Nursing Home is a friendly and welcoming home with a strong community feel. The home offers a comfortable setting with communal lounges, outdoor space and a dedicated team who work together to provide person centred care and support residents to enjoy a good quality of life.

Chef Contract

• £14.55 to £15.15 per hour
• Contracted to 27 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

No late evenings or split shifts, offering a consistent working pattern and genuine work life balance, alongside ongoing training and development opportunities.

Role Overview

As a Chef, you will deliver high quality, nutritious and enjoyable meals that are a key part of daily life. This is a role where your cooking has real impact, bringing comfort, routine and enjoyment while supporting overall wellbeing.

You will take ownership of food preparation and service, ensuring meals are tailored to individual dietary needs, preferences and nutritional requirements. Maintaining high standards of presentation, hygiene and food safety, you will consistently deliver meals that residents look forward to each day.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will contribute to menu planning, kitchen organisation and smooth day to day service. With no late evenings or split shifts, this role offers a strong work life balance while still allowing you to take pride in producing high quality food in a rewarding environment.

What We Are Looking For

• City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent, or working towards
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
