The Catering Department at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking a skilled Chef to join our dedicated team based at Pinderfields Hospital, where we proudly serve over 2,100 visitors per day.

Your Role

As a Chef, you will play a vital role in ensuring the consistent delivery of top-quality meals. You'll help maintain the highest standards across our kitchen operations and contribute to the smooth running of our busy hospital restaurant.

What We Offer
  • A full-time position (37.5 hours per week) with a rotating shift pattern
  • A typical shift pattern will be 5 shifts over 7 days (06:00 to 14:00 and 11:00 to 19:00 on a rotating basis)
Main duties of the job
  • Provide a safe, hygienic, nutritious, and timely service for staff and visitors
  • Prepare and cook meals according to standard recipes and menus
  • Ensure proper food presentation and quality
  • Practice good stock rotation and storage practices
  • Handle food in accordance with hygiene legislation and the Trust Food Safety Policy (HACCP)
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and allergy awareness
  • Assist in patient services and restaurant operations as needed
