Job summary

CareTech is recruiting a Bank Chef for The Oakleaf Group. You will prepare traditional home cooked meals from scratch, cater to special dietary requirements, and work within health and safety policies. Training will be provided and you will collaborate with the hospital team to ensure high levels of service.

The role requires excellent food hygiene knowledge and strong communication, with duties including meal planning, stock rotation, and covering for absent staff.

We are excited to be recruiting a Bank Chef to join our enthusiastic team at The Oakleaf Group. As a Bank Chef within Oakleaf, you will be required to prepare traditional home cooked meals from scratch whilst catering for a range of special dietary requirements. You will be required to work within the company’s policies and procedures whilst ensuring high levels of health and safety. The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of food hygiene with a can-do attitude and good communication and interpersonal skills.

Recognised catering qualifications and experience is desired for this role.

The Role:

You will

• Prepare traditional home cooked meals from scratch, and catering for special meals and dietary requirements
• Working safely within the company policies and procedures
• Excellent knowledge of food hygiene
• Knowledge of food ordering
• Stock rotation
• Baking cakes, muffins and treats
• Interacting with residents and meal planning with them
• Covering sickness and holiday
• Working and planning alongside head chef
• Working alongside the wider, multi-disciplined hospital team to ensure high levels of service and care at all times
