Job summary

Sodexo is seeking an experienced Chef for Johnson Matthey in Reading. This permanent, part-time role offers a 30-hour workweek, Monday to Friday, 8:00am–2:00pm, delivering high-quality meals in a corporate catering setting with a focus on food safety and service excellence.

You will support daily catering operations, ensuring top-tier dining experiences for staff and guests while maintaining stringent hygiene and allergen controls.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the catering team and support events and daily operations.

You will play a key role in supporting daily catering operations, contributing to hospitality services and ensuring an outstanding dining experience for all customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and present high-quality meals, ensuring excellent food quality and customer satisfaction.
• Deliver catering and hospitality services in line with client and company standards.
• Maintain the highest standards of food safety, allergen management, hygiene and health & safety compliance.
• Support kitchen operations, including stock control, ordering systems and monthly stocktakes.
• Complete all required due diligence records, including temperature checks, production sheets and allergen documentation.
• Work collaboratively with the wider catering team, supporting training, special events and the smooth running of daily operations.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience as a Chef within a busy, customer-focused catering environment.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, allergen management and health & safety requirements.
• Excellent organisational, time management and communication skills, with the ability to perform well under pressure.
• A proactive, flexible approach with a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service and high standards of food quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with confidence using catering management and computer-based systems.
