Job summary

Sanctuary Supported Living is seeking a Chef at Doddington Court in Cambridgeshire to help prepare nutritious, restaurant‑quality meals in a calm, well‑structured kitchen. You’ll work alongside the Chef Manager to deliver high standards of food, presentation and dining in a retirement community setting.

You will join a compassionate, community‑minded team, with fully funded hospitality qualifications and opportunities for progression.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering and cooking for diverse groups.
• Level 2 Diploma in Catering and Hospitality.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures and budget management.
• Friendly and approachable with strong customer interaction skills.

Responsibilities

We’re excited to welcome a Chef to support the preparation of nutritious, restaurant-quality meals at Doddington Court, Benwick Road, Doddington, Cambridgeshire, PE15 0WD Retirement Community, without the long hours or split shifts often found in hospitality. Working alongside the Chef Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering high standards of food, presentation, and dining experience within a calm, well-structured kitchen environment.

Your role

• Oversee stock control, audits, and accurate record‑keeping
• Ensure food safety standards are understood and followed by the team
• Maintain high hygiene and safety standards through scheduled cleaning and maintenance

(This position is referred to as Chef but may also be known as Demi Chef, Line Chef, Cook, Chef de Partie (CDP), or Commis Chef)

Qualifications

• Experience working in a catering environment and cooking for diverse groups
• Level 2 Diploma in Catering and Hospitality
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures and budget management
• Friendly and approachable, with great customer interaction skills
