Job description

As a Cook at HMP Altcourse, you'll play a crucial role in supervising and coaching prisoners in the production of over 1200 meals three times a day.

You will be responsible for ensuring high standards of food safety, hygiene, and allergen awareness. Your commitment to overseeing cleaning procedures, stock rotation, and adherence to Health & Safety procedures will impact the daily operations of the kitchen and foster a positive and secure environment. You will be working alongside prisoners.

If you have a City and Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ Level 1 and 2 diploma in food production and cooking, coupled with industrial catering experience, and share our passion for creating positive change, we invite you to be part of our team. The Ideal Candidate:

• You will need City and Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ Level 1 and 2 in food production and cooking.
• Some industrial catering experience is desirable but not necessary.
• Experience instructing/supporting people with challenging behaviour is advantageous.
• Experience in a prison or forces environment is desirable but not necessary.
