A local catering service in Kelso is seeking an experienced Chef to prepare daily meals for approximately 150 people. Job description

Job Title: Chef

Start Date: ASAP

Pay Rate: £15.75 per hour

Location: Kelso (TD5)

Hours: Monday to Thursday (6:30am-2:15pm) and Friday (7am-11am)

Contract Length: 12 weeks initially with possibility of extension



Main Duties:

- Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch for approximately 150 people daily, ensuring high standards of taste, presentation, and food safety.
- Assist in planning and executing daily menus in line with dietary requirements and customer preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the open kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Collaborate effectively with a small kitchen team to ensure smooth service and timely meal delivery.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and inventory management as needed.
- Ensure proper storage, labelling, and rotation of ingredients to minimize waste and maintain freshness.
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, taking food and drink orders accurately.
- Maintain and follow a cleaning schedule for all kitchen equipment, surfaces, and food preparation areas.
